The Hub presents cutting-edge events that promote the revolution of Jewish arts, culture and community. We are Jewish adults in our 20s and 30s (and our friends) who are interested in searching for, questioning and celebrating Jewish identity in the modern world.

Evolve your Jewish identity—and be yourself. Designed to merge with your contemporary urban life, New Jewish Ritual events create a place in which we can all question, explore, and create spiritual traditions.

Plant the Dream 2010:
A Tu B'Shvat Outdoor Celebration

Tu B’Shvat embraces the greenness of the world and the rejuvenation of the New Year. So get your green thumb out and help us celebrate this special tree-planting holiday. (Think: Jewish Arbor Day!) Join us at St. Mary’s Park as we plant new trees and help the SF Park and Recreation Department to beautify this public space for generations to come. As agricultural activists, we will plant a ceremonial tree while also putting a modern spin on the traditional holiday ritual – including honorary tree planters who have made a GREEN difference in our community and our world. Each special guest will dig into the lush soil and “plant” their GREEN DREAM for 2010. Give the gift of a newly restored park to the greater community!

Honorary tree planters will include:
Jennifer S. Gorovitz: CEO, SF Jewish Federation
Jonathan Axelrad, Founder Jewish Energy Challenge (formerly J-Rec)
Anne Schukat, Green Energy Correspondent for the Economist
Josh Becker: Founder New Cycle Capital, Full Circle Fund

We’ll even munch on customary Tu B’Shvat snacks: dried figs, dates, raisins, almonds, and carob chips!

PLEASE wear closed toed shoes, long pants and layers.
This event will happen RAIN OR SHINE
