For children ages 2.5 - 18.
Tikvah is a unique bilingual, bicultural program taught in English and Russian, featuring
instructors from the former Soviet Union with advanced degrees in the creative arts.
Tikvah classes foster an exploration of Jewish heritage through weekly Shabbat celebrations,
musical performances, family gatherings and family education. Children and families of all
faiths and backgrounds are welcome to participate.

“Tikvah made me love dancing - I was never a natural dancer, but Tikvah’s approach to teaching
motivated me to be the best dancer I can be.” - Anna Rafalovich, 2006 graduate and 13 year
Tikvah student.
“Tikvah became my foundation through which I was able to further explore the rest of the
San Francisco Jewish community… it’s my home away from home.” - Anna Neyzberg, Tikvah alumna.
At the JCCSF, we know how important it is for you and your family to stay connected to your
heritage, which is why our Tikvah program is so popular. For 15 years our Tikvah program has
thrived, and today more than 170 children gather each week to celebrate Jewish and Russian
culture through music, dance, language and the arts, and Shabbat.
Our Tikvah Music and Dance program brings together so many wonderful children from all over
the City. We are so lucky to be able to run our Tikvah program in this amazing new building.
Our talented children’s concerts and performances truly stand out in our state-of-the-art
Kanbar Hall theatre.
You and your family are a big part of the Tikvah family. Every week, whether your child is
3, 9 or 16 years old we all come together to celebrate our heritage. Our program has such an
impact that many Tikvah students come back as teachers to share what they have learned with
our younger children.
Many many thanks,
